Research keywords, rankings, and competitors with SEO Data

View as markdown

SEO Data brings current search data into a chat: how often people search for a keyword and how hard it is to rank for, who ranks on Google for a query right now, how visible a site is, where competitors outrank it, its backlinks, and how one page is built. The evidence stays in the conversation, so you can question it, combine it with your own files, and turn it into a brief or a plan.

SEO Data works in Bearly chats on the web, desktop, iOS, and Android, on every plan. It is not available to scheduled Routines or to the experts in Council of Experts. Team administrators can turn it off with the SEO Data team policy.

Ask in ordinary language. Bearly uses SEO Data on its own when a question needs current search data. To make sure it does, type /seo and select SEO data under Research.

/seo Compare example.com with competitor-one.com and competitor-two.com in the United States. Find a content gap worth writing about, then show me who ranks for the best candidate on Google right now.

Results cover the United States in English unless you name another country, city, or language. Ask for mobile results when they matter; Google results default to desktop. SEO Data works one market at a time, so choose a country rather than “worldwide.”

Ask for What Bearly can pull
Keyword ideas Related keywords for up to five seed terms, with monthly search volume, ranking difficulty, cost per click, paid competition, search intent, and the yearly trend.
Numbers for a keyword list The same metrics for a fixed list of up to 100 keywords.
Live Google results Who ranks for up to five queries, the kind of result in each position, the search features on the page, and optionally where a given site ranks.
A site’s search visibility A site’s estimated search visibility, the keywords it ranks for, its top pages, and its search competitors.
A competitor comparison Your site against up to three competitors: overall visibility, keywords they rank for that you don’t, or sites that link to them and not to you.
Backlinks A site’s backlink totals, referring domains, anchor text, and how many links it gained and lost each month over about the last year.
A page audit One public page’s status, title, description, canonical address, word count, links, size, and on-page problems such as a missing title or broken links. Ask for a performance check to add performance and SEO scores.

Bearly writes the answer in the reply. To see exactly what came back, open the step in the reply’s activity and look at Result.

  • Search volume, difficulty, estimated traffic, and backlink counts are third-party estimates. They are not your analytics or Search Console data, and other tools may report different numbers.
  • A missing value means the data isn’t available, not that it’s zero.
  • Rankings describe the market, device, and depth that were checked. A page missing from the results may still rank elsewhere, on another device, or further down.
  • A page audit reflects how the page looked when it was fetched. Performance scores are lab measurements under a simulated device and network, not data from real visitors.

Search operators such as site: or intitle: aren’t supported. Describe what you want instead.

Each fresh request uses your plan allowance, based on the data pulled. There is no separate SEO fee. Keyword ideas and Google results make one request for each seed term or query, and a full site overview makes several, while numbers for a keyword list come back in a single request. If you repeat an identical request soon after in the same session, Bearly reuses the earlier data at no cost.

What you see What to do
SEO data could not be retrieved. Try a narrower request or check the domain, URL, and location. Check that the domain or page address is public and spelled correctly, name a country, or ask for less at once. If you’ve used your plan allowance, this can also appear until it renews.
Part of a result is missing Ask again for just that part, or narrow the request.
/seo doesn’t appear On a managed account, ask an administrator whether the SEO Data policy is on.
