Compare answers with Council of Experts

Council of Experts sends one well-formed question to several AI models in parallel. You can read each answer separately, then use Bearly’s synthesis to find consensus, disagreements, and the strongest response.

Council of Experts is available on Pro and higher plans. It also requires at least two models that your account and any managed-team policy allow.

Ask the council

1. Choose Council of Experts

   Type /council in the message box, then select Council of Experts under AI. The message box changes to Ask the council….

   If your plan does not include Council of Experts, selecting the command opens the upgrade information instead.

2. Write a self-contained question

   Give every expert the same clear objective, important context, and criteria for a good answer. Name an attached file directly instead of relying on “this” or “the document.”

   Compare the three launch plans in the attached memo. Recommend one for a six-person team with a $40,000 budget, and identify the strongest argument against your recommendation.

3. Send the request

   The Council of Experts panel appears in the chat. It shows how many experts are running, done, failed, or skipped. Each model has its own tab, with a status dot and its answer as soon as it is ready.

4. Compare the individual answers

   Select a model tab to read that expert’s response. Use its Copy control when you want the answer on its own.

5. Read the synthesis

   After enough experts finish, Bearly adds a synthesis beneath the panel. The individual model tabs remain available when you want to compare the source answers with the combined response.

Choose the models for future councils

After a council panel exists in a chat, select its Council settings gear. Under Council models, select the lineup you want Bearly to use next time.

• Choose at least 2 and at most 5 experts.
• The selected count appears at the top of the menu.
• Changes save as you make them and affect future councils, not the panel already running or completed.
• The available choices reflect your plan and any model restrictions on a managed account.

If you only want to change one model, deselect it and select its replacement. At the minimum or maximum, Bearly disables choices that would take the council outside the allowed range.

Understand usage and results

A council uses several model responses and a final synthesis, so it normally consumes more of your Bearly usage than asking one model. The amount varies with the selected models, the number of experts, the length of their answers, and any additional work the question requires.

Treat the council as comparison, not a vote

Several models can repeat the same mistake or draw from the same weak premise. For consequential decisions, ask for sources, inspect disagreements, and verify important facts independently.

If the council cannot finish

What you see	What to do
Council of Experts does not appear after typing /council	Check for a Bearly update. On a managed account, ask an administrator whether Council of Experts is allowed.
Selecting the command opens billing	Council of Experts requires Pro or higher. Use the upgrade shown in Bearly to continue.
Council needs more available experts	Open Council settings on an earlier result and select at least two available models. If too few models appear, a team administrator may need to review model access.
One expert shows Error or Aborted	Read the other tabs and the synthesis if at least two experts completed. For a full comparison, start a new council with a different lineup.
Most experts failed	Check the connection, simplify the question, or choose other models under Council settings, then run /council again.
You stopped the response	Any completed tabs remain readable, but the council may not produce a synthesis. Start a new council when you want to retry.
The synthesis misses an important disagreement	Ask a follow-up such as “Compare the experts’ assumptions and explain where their recommendations diverge.”
