Delete your Bearly account

View as markdown

Account deletion is available in Bearly on web, desktop, iOS, and Android. Bearly checks subscriptions and shared work first, then verifies the request with a short-lived code sent to your account email.

  1. Open App SettingsAccount.
  2. Find Delete account and select Delete.
  3. Review the lists under Deleted and Kept as restricted records. Also review any subscription warning or ownership blocker.
  4. Select Email verification code.
  5. Enter the six-digit code sent to the Bearly account email within 10 minutes, then type the complete email in Account email.
  6. Select Schedule account deletion.
  7. Save the deletion receipt and scheduled time shown on screen, then select Done.

Bearly emails the schedule to your account address and waits 24 hours before deleting the account. You can keep using Bearly during that time. An Account marked for deletion bar stays above the app and lets you select Cancel deletion until the final reminder. You can also cancel from App SettingsAccountDelete.

About one hour before deletion, Bearly sends a final email and closes cancellation. If an ownership blocker appears before deletion, Bearly leaves the account available and emails the action you need to take.

After the server completes the deletion, open Bearly clients sign out when they next contact the service and clear their local Bearly data. On desktop, this includes the isolated Bearly Browser profile. Existing Bearly sessions, API keys, and browser-extension credentials stop working. The deleted email address cannot be used to create another Bearly account. Bearly emails the deletion receipt after completion.

Bearly will not delete shared work that could belong to someone else.

  • If you administer a team, transfer administration or close the team first.
  • If work you own has collaborators, transfer ownership or remove the collaborators first.
  • If the blocker remains after making those changes, contact support@bearly.ai from the account email.
  • A web-purchased Bearly subscription is canceled when deletion runs, not when it is scheduled. If the subscription may renew during the 24-hour waiting period, cancel it separately. Deletion does not refund unused time or credits.
  • An App Store subscription is controlled by Apple and is not canceled by deleting Bearly. Use Manage App Store subscription in the deletion review, or cancel the subscription separately, to stop future renewals.
  • A team-managed plan belongs to the team. Deleting a member account removes its membership but does not cancel the team’s subscription.

Bearly keeps a limited set of billing, payment, subscription, usage-total, dispute, fraud-prevention, consent, tax, and legal records when they are needed for reconciliation or legal obligations. Bearly replaces the live account email in its retained operational ledgers with a restricted deletion reference. Payment processors may separately retain invoices and transaction records under their own legal obligations.

These retained records cannot be used to sign in or recover the deleted account. Bearly reviews them under its retention schedule and preserves them longer only when a legal or dispute hold requires it. The Privacy Policy governs retention and privacy rights.

If you cannot sign in, email support@bearly.ai from the account address and ask for account deletion help.
