Manage billing and review usage
Billing settings show your current plan and the actions available for that subscription. Paid accounts also get a personal Usage view with the current credit period and a month-by-month model breakdown.
Open Billing or Usage
- Open the account menu that shows your email, plan badge, and usage meter.
- Select Billing & Pro to open Settings → Billing.
- To review a paid account’s activity, select Usage under Settings.
You can also select App Settings, then choose Billing or Usage. The account menu’s meter gives you a quick percentage at any time; +boost appears beside it when boost credits are active.
Review or change your plan
The Current Plan card identifies your plan and shows the actions available for its payment source. Depending on the account, these can include Manage Account, Invoices, Restore, and Cancel.
To compare plans:
- Choose Monthly or Yearly. The yearly option is marked 17% off.
- Review the Pro, Analyst, and Research cards. If you already have a paid plan, the Free card is also shown.
- Select Upgrade to Plan, Switch to Plan, or Purchase Plan, as shown.
- Complete the purchase or account change in the billing page that opens.
Your active choice is marked CURRENT and cannot be selected again. If a cancellation is scheduled, Current Plan shows the date under Cancels on and offers Reactivate.
Understand credits and reset periods
- Free accounts use a daily allowance. The account-menu meter shows the percentage used, and the allowance resets daily.
- Paid plans use a monthly allowance. Open Usage to see Used this month, Monthly limit, today’s usage, and the displayed reset date.
- A managed team or individual member limit can change the monthly limit shown for that account.
- Credit use varies by model and task. The percentage meter is a better guide than counting messages.
If a chat reaches its limit, select View Billing, Buy Boost, or Boost or Upgrade in the message Bearly shows. The available action depends on your plan, payment source, and boost eligibility. After adding credits or changing plans, return to the chat and send the request again.
Add a Credit Boost
Eligible paid, self-managed accounts can add one-time credits under Billing → Credit Boost. Boosts are used during the current credit cycle and expire with that cycle.
The card shows the choices available to your account, the credits added, and the amount you will pay. Bearly may also offer Claim amount Credits when a free boost is available.
- Review Credit Boost, including any Boost remaining balance.
- Select a credit amount and check the Pay amount price before continuing.
- Complete checkout, then return to Bearly and reopen Billing or Usage to confirm the new balance.
Repeated boosts can use capacity pricing, which the card identifies before purchase. Each plan also has an outstanding-credit limit. When the limit is reached, Bearly hides unavailable options and explains that the plan’s cap has been reached. If boosts are becoming routine, the card may show a less expensive plan upgrade instead.
Boosts are not offered to free accounts, team-managed billing, or inside the iOS app. A paid App Store subscriber can open Bearly outside the iOS app to buy an available one-time boost, while plan changes continue through Apple.
Review personal Usage
Open App Settings → Usage. The Current Period card shows:
- Your plan and the percentage used.
- When credits reset.
- The amount used and your current limit.
- Today’s cost on a monthly plan.
- Boost remaining, when applicable.
Select Manage to return to Billing. When monthly credits apply, Buy Boost opens the same Billing pane.
Under Usage by Model, use Previous month and Next month to move between available months. The table shows Model, Calls, and Cost, followed by a Total row. You can go back to the month you joined Bearly and forward only as far as the current month.
If there is no recorded activity for the selected period, the table is replaced by No usage this month.
Payment and account differences
| Account | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Purchased on the web | Plan changes and account management open a secure browser billing page. |
| Purchased in the iOS app | Manage the subscription through the iOS app. Outside iOS, plan cards show Manage in iOS App and cannot be selected. |
| Team-managed | Billing shows Team-Managed Billing instead of plan cards. Ask your team administrator or select Contact Support for billing help. |
If Billing or Usage looks wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Unable to redirect or the billing page does not open | Check your connection, then select the action again. If it continues, contact [email protected]. |
| Checking for previous subscription… does not resolve | Confirm the purchasing account, reopen Billing, and select Restore again. |
| An iOS purchase does not appear immediately | Leave Bearly open briefly while it checks the subscription, then reopen Billing. Use Restore if needed. |
| A boost says it is no longer available or would pass the plan limit | Review the refreshed options and choose one that remains available. |
| Usage by Model unexpectedly says No usage this month. | Confirm the selected month, check your connection, and reopen Usage. |
| Your account says Team-Managed Billing | Ask the team administrator about the assigned plan or limit; use Contact Support for payment assistance. |
