The Memory & Search feature helps you find information across all your chat conversations using intelligent search. Instead of scrolling through individual chats, you can quickly locate specific messages, topics, or discussions from your entire conversation history.

How It Works
Every message you send and receive is automatically saved. You can search for concepts, topics, or ideas even if you don’t remember the exact words used.
Opening Search
There are multiple ways to access the search feature:
Using Keyboard Shortcuts
- Mac: Press
Cmd + F - Windows/Linux: Press
Ctrl + F
Using the Search Icon
Click the search icon in the sidebar to open the search interface.
Search Interface
The search modal provides a clean, focused interface for finding information:
Search Input
- Type your search query in natural language
- Results appear automatically as you type
- Search works with typos and different word forms
Search Results
Results are organized by conversation, showing:
- Chat Title: The name of the conversation containing the results
- Result Count: Number of matching messages in that chat
- Message Preview: A snippet of the most relevant message
- Click to Navigate: Click any result to jump directly to that conversation
How Memory Works
All your conversations are automatically saved and organized so you can search through them later. This includes your messages, AI responses, and any files you’ve discussed. Everything stays private on your device.
When you first use search, your existing chats will be processed and made searchable. After that, all new messages are automatically saved for search in real-time.
Keyboard Navigation
Once search is open, you can navigate efficiently:
- Escape: Close the search modal
- Enter: Open the first search result
- Up/Down Arrow Keys: Navigate through search results
