# Create and edit videos

Bearly can create a short video from a written scene, animate a still image, or transform an existing clip. You describe the motion and format in the chat; the finished MP4 appears in an inline player.

Video tools are available in Bearly chats unless a managed-team policy disables them. Generation uses your account's AI credits, and higher resolutions cost more.

## Generate a video



1. **Choose Generate Video**

   Type `/`, then select **Generate Video**.

2. **Optionally attach an image**

   For text-to-video, no image is required. To animate a still image, select the plus icon beside the message box, choose **Attach files**, and add it before sending the request.

   You can attach both an opening and closing image, but identify which should be the first frame and which should be the final frame. A final-frame image cannot be used without a starting image.

3. **Describe the scene and motion**

   Include the subject, action, camera behavior, light, and pacing. Add format choices only when they matter.

   Create an 8-second vertical video of this paper kite lifting into a coastal wind. Start with a close shot, then pull back slowly as it rises. Use 1080p and include quiet wind and surf, with no speech.
   ```

4. **Send the request**

   Bearly generates the clip and places it in the conversation. The result shows the prompt and useful details such as duration, resolution, and whether audio was included.



If you omit format choices, Bearly uses a 5-second duration, 1080p resolution, and a 16:9 frame. You can request:

- A duration from 3 to 15 seconds.
- 720p, 1080p, or 4K resolution.
- A 16:9 landscape, 9:16 vertical, or 1:1 square frame.
- Generated sound effects, music, or speech.

> **Note**
> Generated audio is available when creating a new video. When editing an existing clip, you can keep or remove its original sound, but the edit command does not add a newly generated soundtrack.


## Edit an existing video



1. **Choose the source clip**

   Use a video already in the chat or attach a short MP4 with **Attach files**.

2. **Choose Edit Video**

   Type `/`, select **Edit Video**, and make sure the intended source is attached or clearly identified.

3. **Describe the transformation**

   Explain what should change and what should remain. The source sound is kept unless you ask Bearly to remove it.

   ```text copy
   Keep the camera movement and timing, but change the scene from afternoon to blue hour. Preserve the original sound.
   ```

4. **Review the new clip**

   Bearly adds the edit as a separate video marked **Edited**. The original clip remains unchanged.



Use a short source clip for editing. If Bearly rejects its length, trim it to 3–10 seconds. Uploaded source videos for editing must be no larger than 50 MB.

## Play and save the result

The inline player includes **Play video**, **Mute video**, playback speed, and **Download video** controls. Downloads use the MP4 format. The video also remains in the chat for later follow-up work.

> **Caution**
> Generated video can introduce inconsistent faces, hands, objects, text, motion, or audio. Review the entire clip—including its final frames and sound—before publishing it or using it as evidence.


## If video generation or editing fails

- If an attached image or video cannot be loaded, attach it again and resend the request.
- If an edit says the source is too large, use a shorter or lower-resolution clip under 50 MB.
- If Bearly cannot read the source duration, re-export or re-upload the clip, then try again.
- For a failed generation, retry with a simpler motion description. Choose a lower resolution when you want to use fewer credits.
- If the video command is missing, ask a team administrator whether your assigned policy allows video tools.
