# Check grammar and clarity

HTML: [https://bearly.ai/docs/features/grammar-correction/](https://bearly.ai/docs/features/grammar-correction/)

> Review grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, vocabulary, and clarity suggestions without losing your original meaning.

**Grammar Correction** marks possible writing problems inside your original text. You can inspect each explanation, accept only the changes you agree with, and copy the revised version when you are finished.

## Check a passage

1. **Choose Grammar Correction**

Type `/grammar` in a chat, then select **Grammar Correction** from the command menu.

2. **Add the text**

Paste or type the passage into the message box. For a useful review, include complete sentences and enough surrounding context to make the intended meaning clear.

3. **Send the message**

Bearly returns the passage with possible issues underlined. The summary above it shows how many suggestions are still waiting for review—or **No issues found** when there are none.

Grammar Correction can flag grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, vocabulary, and clarity. An underline is a suggestion, not a verdict: names, quotations, house style, dialect, and deliberately unusual phrasing may be correct as written.

## Review the suggestions

Select any underlined passage to see:

- The kind of issue Bearly noticed.
- A short explanation.
- The original wording and proposed change.
- **Accept**, which applies that one change.

Choose **Accept All** only when you have reviewed the set and want every remaining correction. Leave any suggestion you do not want untouched; it will not be applied.

After changing the passage, select **Check Again** to run a fresh review on the current version. Use **Copy corrected text** to copy the complete passage, including accepted changes, to the clipboard.

> **Caution**
> For legal language, quotations, names, technical terminology, and carefully styled prose, review each suggestion individually. A grammatically smoother sentence can still change emphasis or meaning.

## Get a better review

- Ask for one purpose at a time. Grammar Correction is for sentence-level review; use an ordinary chat request when you want a rewrite for a new audience or tone.
- Break a very long document into meaningful sections so each passage keeps enough context.
- If a suggestion appears in the wrong place, copy the current text into a new **Grammar Correction** request and run it again.
- If **Check Again** fails, the accepted text remains in the card. Wait for the connection to recover, then select it again or copy the text into a new request.
