# Share a conversation or file as a Page

HTML: [https://bearly.ai/docs/chats/share/](https://bearly.ai/docs/chats/share/)

> Create a standalone Page from your work, review it, choose who can open it, and share a link that others can continue from in Bearly.

Sharing turns the substance of a conversation into a standalone Page with artwork and a link preview. Your full conversation is not shared. You review the Page before publishing it.

You can also share a file from the chat. Preparing a share uses text and image generation, which counts toward your Bearly usage. Sharing must be allowed by your organization, and the conversation must allow changes.

## Prepare a conversation to share

1. **Open the conversation and select Share**

Use the **Share** icon in the chat header, beside **Browse files** when the chat has files. Select **Prepare share**.

You can also ask Bearly directly: `Prepare a shareable Page of the final proposal in this chat.` Name the result you want when the conversation contains several drafts or topics.

2. **Watch the Page take shape**

The **Preparing share** screen displays the title, text, Page, and artwork as they arrive. It shows separate progress for the Page and its artwork.

Select **Stop sharing** to cancel preparation. Closing the screen with **Back to chat** lets preparation continue; select **Share** again to return to it. Any files already saved remain in the chat.

3. **Review the finished Page**

The Page opens with its **Ready to share** controls. Check the Page itself and the title, description, and artwork in the link preview. Expand **Context for a new conversation** to review the brief that a reader can bring into a new chat.

If the content needs a change, ask Bearly to revise it and prepare the updated version before publishing. For a story, the Page should contain the story itself. For a proposal, it should contain the proposal and the context its reader needs.

Preparation does not publish anything. The Page is ready to send only after you complete the publishing step below.

## Publish and send the link

1. **Choose Audience**

   - **Anyone with the link** lets people open the Page without signing in. Anyone they forward the link to can also open it.
   - **People and teams** requires readers to sign in with an account that has access. After publishing, use **Manage viewers** to add the people or teams who should be able to open it.

Your organization's policy determines which choices appear.

2. **Select Publish**

When publication succeeds, the controls show the Page's link. For **People and teams**, open **Manage viewers**, search for a teammate by name or email, and select **Add**, or add one of the listed teams.

3. **Copy or share**

Select **Copy Page link** beside the link, or **Copy takeaways + link** to include the brief as well. **Share…** opens your device's share sheet when it is available.

Public links include a title, description, and artwork for apps that display link previews. Restricted links keep those details behind sign-in, so they may show a generic preview in another app.

## Share a file

Open the file from the conversation or **Browse files**, then select its **Share file** icon. Select **Prepare share**, review the Page and the included filename, and publish it using the same audience controls.

An existing Page keeps its content. When sharing another kind of file, Bearly creates a Page with a download of the original. Images, PDFs, audio, and video can also appear in the Page when the reader's browser supports viewing or playing them. If the preview is unavailable, use the download link.

Each share can include one original file up to 300 MB. A Page you prepare for sharing must be under 9 MB. Files included in a share use the Page's audience.

## Continue from a shared Page

On a published Page, select **Continue conversation in Bearly** and sign in if prompted. Bearly opens a new chat with the Page's link and a short brief attached. Add your question, then send the message when you are ready.

This starts your own conversation. It does not copy the author's full thread or import the original files as editable attachments. Download a shared file and [attach it to your chat](https://bearly.ai/docs/chats/files.md) if you want Bearly to work on that file.

## Update or stop sharing

Reopen the shared Page in the original chat and select **Publish** to manage it.

- **Publish update** replaces the published version at the same link. Changes made in the chat do not update the public Page until you publish them.
- **Audience** changes who can open the link. For restricted links, use **Manage viewers** → **Remove** to remove a person or team.
- **Unpublish** stops access through the shared link. A cached public Page may remain visible briefly, and unpublishing cannot recall copies someone has already downloaded or saved elsewhere.

## If sharing does not finish

If preparation stops or fails, the draft screen keeps the content received so far. Select **Prepare again** when you want to start another attempt; generation uses your Bearly usage again.

If Page details fail to load, select **Retry**. If publishing fails, keep the saved Page and retry from **Publish**. If unpublishing shows **Retry cleanup**, select it to finish cleanup.

If a reader sees **You need access**, check the Page's audience and viewers, and ask them to sign in with the account you added. If sharing controls are unavailable, check whether the chat is read-only or ask your organization admin about its [sharing policy](https://bearly.ai/docs/teams/policies.md).
